15th June 2010 SE London Mumpreneurs Networking Lunch

Emma Jones, Founder of Enterprise Nation to speak at the launch of the SE London Mumpreneur Network, with ‘Sell It Mama’ in Crystal Palace. 

15th June 2010. The South East London Mumpreneur Network has teamed up with ‘Sell It Mama’ to launch the network for mums in business or with a business idea in Crystal Palace at a Businessmums’ networking lunch on Tuesday 15th June 2010 at the Exhibition Rooms. Guest speaker Emma Jones – Founder of Enterprise Nation and author of ‘Spare Room Start Up’, will be providing mumpreneurs with practical advice on how to start up a business along with hints and tips on how to make working at home that little bit easier.  

Emma Jones started her first business at the age of 27 from her spare room in Manchester and successfully sold it 2 years later to Tenon Group plc. This experience provided the inspiration for Emma’s next venture which launched in January 2006. Enterprise Nation – www.enterprisenation.com – has become the most popular resource in the UK for anyone starting and growing a business from home, attracting over 100,000 unique visitors each month. 
 
In 2009, Emma was responsible for the UK’s first ever Home Enterprise Day, held during Global Entrepreneurship Week; a chance to celebrate the millions of people who have turned a talent/hobby/skill into a way of making a living, and part of their home into a business HQ. Emma is the author of ‘Spare Room Start Up – how to start a business from home’ and her next book, ‘Working 5 to 9 – how to start a business in your spare time’ is published in May 2010.

Sell It Mama! is the brainchild of Rachel D’Cruze, mother and local entrepreneur.  Sell It Mama, The Gipsy Hill Mother & Baby Fair is now in its second year and has a winning formula to make second-hand baby goods more regularly accessible to new and existing families.  A number of commercial stalls are available for businesses with a baby-friendly theme to showcase their products and services.  Born in Brighton Rachel has lived in Gipsy Hill for the past 9 years.  After a career in television, film and theatre she is now a stay-at-home mum running her own business.

The networking lunches are held every 6 weeks during term time to help mums in business tap into the experiences of other like-minded mums and hear from inspiring guest speakers who will share their experience and knowledge of juggling a family with setting up and running a successful business. Mumpreneurs also have the opportunity to attend ‘brainstorm in a teacup’ sessions, where mums in business share ideas, advice and experience over a coffee and a slice of cake.

Cost: £22 per head

Lunch: Two course meal including water, tea and coffee
