I would highly recommend the Women Unlimited Conference. I found it thoroughly inspirational and picked up some fantastic tips for take my business to the next stage. Kemi Laniyan
Last year we thought we would try an experiment. As well as hearing from women who had been there and done that, we introduced a new concept called Your Journeys. As inspiring as it is, to hear from women who have achieved great success, we thought maybe it would be equally as inspiring to hear from women who are at different stages of their journey and who are also achieving success – but haven’t ‘made it’ yet. Four women came on stage and shared their journey’s and the challenges and tribulations that they had experienced along the way. And it was so enormously successful , we have decided to do it again this year. These women have all achieved success and would like to share with you their insights and learnings along the way. Last year we had tears, laughter and amazement as each one moved us with her story. This year we will be introducing:
Oma is an author, speaker and Women’s Business Growth Mentor who is passionate about the economic empowerment of women through entrepreneurship! She is a prolific writer, speaker, industry blogger, coach, mentor and hostess of two online radio shows for the empowerment of women. Oma speaks locally and internationally and is featured in both local and international media. A former school teacher, Oma’s audiences especially love her educational and inspirational style, infused with humour.
Viv will be sharing her story of DREAM CORNER – ‘For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a radio presenter, but I never had the confidence to pursue it, and think prior to when I got the gig, would been happy to go through life without fulfilling this dream. But through a chain of events which was written about in the Sunday Telegraph Stella magazine in July 2012, Viv’s Telegraph article, you will see that anything and everything is possible. If I in my 40s can realise my almost-30-year dream, then it’s never too late and nothing is impossible.’
Galia will delight you with her success story - ‘Having worked for several years in business development, marketing and communications, dabbling in music and realising it was getting a bit late to become a Rock Chick, I discovered raw chocolate making and set up CHOC Chick in Sept 2008. After spending several months developing recipes and sourcing organic ingredients I created CHOC Chick Kits with all the natural chocolate making ingredients and simple recipes to help anyone who loves chocolate make delicious chocolates that are free from dairy, processed sugars, additives, gluten, soya and guilt! Our mission is to promote the pure goodness of chocolate in its raw state and bring the delights and benefits of natural chocolate making to everyone.’
I thought it was an excellent event and once again has given me faith to Go For It and stick my head out. Joanna Tall, Off to see my lawyer.com
We are scheduling in great networking for this event! You will have multiple opportunities to network with each other and our speakers during the conference. Meeting and engaging with other women who are experiencing the same challenges and successes as you is one of the highlights of the day. You could find that the friendships and partnerships that you form at the conference could last you a lifetime, so take this opportunity to meet and learn from each other as much as possible.
Meet a Mentor Breakfast Event
Prior to the conference itself, we have partnered up with Get Mentoring to run a Mentor Match Making breakfast. This is an energetic and fun breakfast event for female entrepreneurs looking for a business mentor.
Throughout 2012, many talented and experienced business women completed the Government funded Introduction to Enterprise Mentoring course with Get Mentoring with a view to becoming a volunteer mentor. Not only did they take time out to do the course, they also agreed volunteer an hour of their time per month for two years to support a new and growing business.
Now they want to meet YOU, who as someone instrumental in the success of a new and growing business, could benefit from their experience and support as a mentor. We want to bring together the trained mentors and mentees within our community with the objective of developing successful mentoring relationships.
We’ll also tell you a bit more mentoring, what to expect and what not to, and signpost you to lots of interesting sources of support that for you and your business.
